Etno-Espa 2008 presents today’s folk music in its most jubilant forms.
The opening concert 1.8. at 4.30 pm offers sounds from the most famous kantele player in the world, Timo Väänänen, but also Pekko Käppi, who improvises with dj Matti Nives.

During August the festival program spans from children’s folk songs to folksy punk and from tender ballads to boisterous ‘pelimanni’ fiddling. The theme of the year could well be described as “positive twistedness”, a laid-back and original approach to folk music!
